Preview a Beta Version
beta Version available
Thanks for previewing this beta version of Timelapse, made available primarily for testing before its general release. I do try to test Timelapse thoroughly before releasing it, but sometimes I don’t catch everything (especially if its due to your particular Windows environment being different from mine). having others trying out the beta version (and reporting errors, if any) is extremely helpful.
Download beta as a zip file
This is a self-contained version (i.e., includes .Net 8).
- Extract the software. Open the zip file by double clicking it and extract the Timelapse folder to a location of your choosing.
- Run Timelapse.exe in the folder – in that way, you can try it, while leaving your shortcuts to your non-beta Timelapse.exe unaffected.
- If you want to use the Beta instead of the non-beta long-term: just follow the instructions in README-Instructions.txt in that folder. It describes how to create shortcuts and file associations to Timelapse. If you later want to return to the original (non-beta) version, you should remove the beta and reinstall Timelapse from the web site.
What’s different in this Beta Version
The majority of changes are internal, although there are many subtle fixes that you may not even notice. The most significant ones are listed below.
- Completely rewrote of various data field entry controls to avoid licensing issues. However, controls should be very similar to what you used before (excepting shortcuts), so you may not even notice. Many glitches fixed as well.
- Video player fixes, including addition of ‘very fast’ playback
- Rationalization of shortcut keys to make them more consistent. This includes a new printable Shortcut key document available on the help menu. Its worth looking at, as some behaviors differ from previous Timelapse versions.
- Fixed tab ordering in a number of places for easier keyboard text enty
What I would like you to test
- The most critical thing is data entry. Is the data actually entered? Are there cases where it seems to fail? Did you try it in the overview where you selected multiple images? I tested this heavily, but its always good to have fresh eyes on it.
- Shortcut keys: Do they work as you expect?
