Preview a Beta Version

beta Version available

Thanks for previewing this beta version of Timelapse, made available primarily for testing before its general release. I do try to test Timelapse thoroughly before releasing it, but sometimes I don’t catch everything (especially if its due to your particular Windows environment being different from mine). having others trying out the beta version (and reporting errors, if any) is extremely helpful.

In this Beta:

  1. Custom Selection for Classification Recognition allows you to select multiple classifications
  • By shift-clicking entries in the classifications list. Example: select both Mule deer and White-tailed deer to display images containing both those classifications.
  • By its taxonomic rank if using Google – SpeciesNet. A Select by Taxon button lets you select classifications via a taxonomic hierarchy subset (as defined in the recognition file). For example, select Canis todisplay images containing either Coyote or Grey wolf recognitions.
  • The Timelapse Image Recognition Guide has been updated to include the above (see pages 11-12).

2. Reconyx4k camera support

  • MetadataExtractor now shows full metadata for Reconyx4K cameras (faster than ExifTool, which also supports that camera)

Download beta as a zip file

This is a self-contained version (i.e., includes .Net 10). Most people will use this.

Usually by systems people; requires that .Net 10 is installed separately.

If your machine is locked down, this is likely a reasonable workaround.,

  1. Extract the software. Open the zip file by double clicking it and extract the Timelapse folder to a location of your choosing.
  2. Run Timelapse.exe in the folder – in that way, you can try it, while leaving your shortcuts to your non-beta Timelapse.exe unaffected.

What’s different in this Beta Version

This version fixes a performance issue with Custom Select when:

  • Select recognitions… subdialog is open
  • Include all files in an episode when at least one file matches‘ is checked
  • You are trying to select other options.

What I would like you to test

  1. The above features with a very large database
